Van Beek introduces Celsius Volta, an innovative electrically heated screw heat exchanger. This new development offers energy savings of at least 25%, and advanced process control thanks to individually adjustable temperature zones.
The Celsius Volta heats and dries products without using thermal media such as steam, hot water or thermal oil. As a result, there is no energy loss due to heat transfer through pipelines, no risk of leaks and the process’s energy infrastructure is greatly simplified. Electric heating takes place directly in the machine, ensuring maximum efficiency. The absence of thermal media means that the machine heats up faster, and less energy is lost when cooling.
The option to set the temperature zones separately allows for accurate control of the process. This offers advantages for those production processes that benefit from a gradual rise in temperature or specific temperature settings distributed along the length of the machine.
The Celsius Volta aligns perfectly with the electrification of the process industry, an important step in reducing CO₂ emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. This is a proprietary technology that has been fully developed by Van Beek, and is currently subject to a patent application.
The first test machine is available to customers who want to experience the energy savings and process benefits of the Celsius Volta.
The Celsius Volta is an efficient solution for heating, drying or mixing products in, among others, the chemical and food industries. The technology is ideal for processes involving viscous masses, powders and granules, where the screw ensures the correct temperature and residence time in the machine. The machine is available in various sizes, and can be fully adapted to specific customer needs.
